OrbRom Center was founded with a clear mission—to provide specialized educational services for children with special needs in Phnom Penh. The idea came from recognizing a significant gap in the availability of tailored programs that cater to children who require extra support. The founders envisioned a space where children could learn at their own pace, develop critical skills, and prepare for future transitions into mainstream schools.

Building the Foundation
The journey began with thorough research into the needs of children with developmental delays and disabilities. The founders, led by Sophaneth Heng, a Khmer national with a Master’s Degree in Special Education from Flinders University, Australia, combined personal experience and professional expertise to design programs focused on early intervention.

The center opened its doors with two locations—OrbRom Olympia and OrbRom Borey Peng Huoth Boeung Snor—strategically placed to provide convenient access for families across Phnom Penh.

Specialized Programs and Services
From the start, OrbRom Center focused on evidence-based teaching methods, including Montessori and play-based curriculums. Its services cover one-on-one intensive interventions, inclusive school readiness programs, developmental and academic assessments, speech therapy, and occupational therapy. The sensory rooms and visual supports in classrooms were thoughtfully designed to create a nurturing learning environment.

The Team Behind the Success
OrbRom has built a team of highly skilled professionals, including therapists and teachers, dedicated to delivering exceptional support. Key staff members include Kate Bowler, a Special Education Needs (SEN) Primary Teacher; Chenzy M. Pueblo, an Occupational Therapist; Waya Bethany C. Olosan, a Special Needs Teacher; and Shilpa Susan Solomon, a Speech and Language Therapist. Together, they focus on helping children improve communication, social skills, and overall development.

A Commitment to Growth
OrbRom Center continues to evolve, expanding its programs and services based on parent feedback and assessments. It remains dedicated to empowering children to reach their full potential while providing families with the resources and support needed to navigate their educational journey.
