Khmer New Year, or Choul Chnam Thmey, is one of Cambodia’s most beloved and culturally significant holidays. It’s a time for family, tradition, and celebration—filled with water fights, temple visits, and joyful reunions. A Time to Pause and Celebrate
Khmer New Year marks the end of the traditional harvest season and the beginning of the new year in the Khmer calendar. It is a moment for rest, reflection, and renewal. Streets are filled with festive music, colorful decorations, and people celebrating with water, powder, and traditional games. Many families take this opportunity to travel, visit relatives, and participate in religious ceremonies to honor ancestors and receive blessings for the year ahead.
At OrbRom Center, we deeply value the role of cultural traditions in shaping a child’s identity and sense of belonging. That’s why we encourage our families to embrace the New Year celebrations as a meaningful time for connection, joy, and relaxation.
Reopening and Looking Ahead
Our center will resume regular services on April 19. We kindly ask all parents and caregivers to plan appointments and sessions around the closure dates. If you have any questions regarding your child’s schedule or upcoming therapy sessions, feel free to reach out before the break.
